BISHOP TD JAKES

Our goal isn't to have church or inspire you

But to give you directives to move toward a goal

Last year, I told you to bring time the giant's head

We're not having these b/c we have nothing esle to do

Help you accomplish that goal

Give you the tools to accomplish that goal

Unique as fingerprint on your hand

Writing makes you take ownership--we don't take ownership

Word gives birth while it is delivered

--I'm not here to give you the goal

This is not the destination

Your goal and purpose is as unique as you are

7 billion ppl and nobody's voice pattern is the same; fingerprint

You are unique; fearfully and marvellously made in a category all by yourself; find what's in you, you will have no competition

DOWN IN YOUR CORE IS UNIQUE DNA KEY, CODE THAT UNLOCKS DESTINY IN YOUR LIFE

YOU ARE LIKE CINDERELLA'S FOOT--ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TO BE YOURSELF

What God has for you, it's yours, not your sister's

Search your own spirit; out of you flows river of life

Answer is inside of you; the answer's in the house

You've been running all around trying to figure things out; it's inside of you

Eyes not seen, ears didn't hear, neither imagined what he has in store but it has been revealed to us by his spirit

--spirit of God is showing commercials to your spirit; showing your spirit your future

--only reason you have faith for things is because you've seen it in your spirit

--God will give you the desires of your heart

--God will give you the desires of your heart; he puts the desires there; he puts the WANT TO in your spirit; the passion and craving in your spirit; it has been revealed unto you by his spirit

Faith is the substance and evidence Heb 11:1

Start tying into what is given to you in the spirit; if it is yours in the spirit;d on't pay anyone else any attention; it's only time before it's yours in the natureal

--separate from ambition and carnality; validation; prove important born out of insecurity and inferiority

--many times come as glimpses

--glimpse in the spirit; no details, just glimpses

--EX:  Bishop: "I'm not going to be broke anymore"  I tried it.  I didn't like it.  I gave it benefit of doubt.  My spirit rejected it.  

--I was in it but it wasn't my destiny

--I never unpacked there.  I wasn't staying

--My spirit never believed that was my destinies

--There are certain things I knew I was supposed to be

--My church would seat 80 ppl; standing room only

--no matching pews; paint

--in that low estate, in my spirit, I knew I wouldn't stay there

--I had never seen a crowd or been to big church W Virginia

--I had no point of reference

--You come in at the end of the movie

[ballgame; thunder]

--I started with absolutely nothing

--if you have God given goals in your life, don't allow anyone to talk you out of your dream

--if God has put something down in your spirit, do you have a God-given goal; we are going to talk to God about the goals in your life

--Do not own a temporary situation, pitching tents in the wilderness; never built a house, never planned to stay; pitch a tent, spend the night if you must, but keep on moving until you get to Promise

--How many of you have goal or dream worthy of this conference?  

--Bishop:  I need to mentor ppl with ridiculous dreams; I need to mento ppl with a dream you cant afford anointing  to be king but you're shoveling sheep dung.

YOUR DREAMS NEED INFRASTRUCTURE

--everything you hope to be and build is not built on superficials but structure ou put in place

--cannot get the blessing and then build the infrastructure

--must be braced and structured before God elevates you

--we are nomadic ppl; we are progressive; we move forward; He is MOVING; mighty rushing wind; living water

--goals, objectives and strategies

GOALS: WHAT DOES YOUR FUTURE LOOK LIKE

can you describe it?  waking up just to see what next day will bring

--success is intentional, never accidental

--you will never be great by accident

you will never win olympics by accident

you will not build mighty church by accident; you intend to do it

--WHAT DOES YOUR FUTURE LOOK LIKE?  IS IT A DREAM OR A GOAL?

--MUST GIVE 5 YEAR PROJECTION AT IBM CEO

--"PROPHESY, SON OF MAN..."  how can you be prophet for ppl with no vision for yourself

--how do you tailor relationships to see those goals?

--rearrange your life to be intentional

--most Christian leaders have no strategy for next 10 years

--no plan; take any engagement without any strategy

YOU ARE WHERE YOU ARE BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT DEVLEOPED TIME WITHOUT GOAL.

WRITE THE VISION AND MAKE IT PLAIN 

GOALS:  THIS IS INTENTIONAL

--Diff between goal: ultimate long range destination

objectives: incremental progresses that lead to goal

days to accomplish creation:  objective

creation completed GOALS.

"Good, not finished"

Knew it would take to end of week to FINISH

Objectives:  move closer and closer to goal.

Without this, living life through happenstance

you don't know where you're going; don't know where to put the money

Ignorance is expensive 

--it costs you money not to have a plan. You lose time, relationships

--you build team according to the target

--what are you trying to do?  That determines the same team?

--Some try to use same ppl to do everything

--Same ppl good at local church may not be good at national television

200/300 staff never seen; support

--accounting, coo, business admin, social media, ppl at warehouse, property, they don't see ppl but they make it happen

--I built my staff around what I was trying to accomplish

--break out into a structure according to task or target you're trying to hit

--community outreaches--build team according to task

--WHERE ARE YOU GOING?  YOU WON'T KNOW WHO TO TAKE WITH YOU UNTIL YOU KNOW WHERE YOU'RE GOING?  BUILD TEAM AND AIM TEAM AT WHERE YOU'RE GOING

--Same principle:  

Preparation is Never Time Wasted

Building is tough:  hard work

"It'll work if you work it"

Somebody would step in your situation and explode it.  

INTENTIONAL:  Goal, objectives and strategy as to where you want to go

10 years from now, where do you want to be?

Survivalis not success: you need to answer this question

You don't have goal to measure success by

--You never feel successful b/c you don't have a goal

You can't say: It is finished if you don't know what IT is

God had goals--be like him.

Then, prepare your life, your school, your reading, friends, relationships, all around that goal

--I don't have time for ppl who keep me from my goal, I'm tailoring my relationships around my destination

--biggest mistakes:  so busy working on what I was doing taht I didn't reaize what I entered into

--I entered into it and was a stranger there; no relationships

I had gifting and anointing to play on big field, but didn't dev relationships to protect me where he was taking me

Every jungle has its own predator

Next level:  so focused

Everywhere I failed to check the box, I had a problem

New arena, don't know ppl?  Insular in perspective building what you're doing. 

--Wherever you're getting ready to go, you need relationships to protect you.  When I didn't do that, I got shot at

--Foreigner?  The ppl there before you don't come to welcome, but come to kill.

--Gift brought you there...New arrivals on new territories

--You need to know the mayor; you need to look outside of the church and build relationships to protect what you're building

Preparation is never time wasted

Isolated and insular:  most dangerous to be successful and be isolated.

You need connections to operate on that level; external connections

--you need ppl down at the courthouse

--take time to build those relationships

--who, what, when

--who ar eth eppl you will gather around the goal?

Choose your team

Lunch?  Be strategic:  stop eating with JoJo Mookie

--Make your time mean something

--Who are the ppl you need to know to function

--you can't just plan and be unaware of ground it's planted in

--The Who:  

--Nobody sits by the president by accident.  YOu don't just sit down 

Every photo shot has him sitting by who he is supposed 

--How successful ppl think?

--Pouring into them or Pouring into you

--Are you strategic about it

--Are you always delayed by ppl who can't help you 

Maybe why you are delayed

--Prioritize your time; be most productive

--Relationships are your greatest resource

--Better than money

--You've got to learn to be relational.

--Kingdom of God advances amongst friends.

It cannot advance among strangers

Your cell phone tells me your network

I can tell you what you're worth right now; who you spend your life talking to

--who are ppl you need to gather

--can I have a portion of your time?

--25% time where you are going

25% rest

25% time ppl responsible

25% time where you are

--eat lunch w ppl you need to meet and talk to 

--where you are not smartest person in room

--go where yo grow

--give yourself space to enlarge

--don't go back to what is familiar

--you're in the wrong room if you are the smartest person in the room

Objectives:  tell me objectives you want to accomplish; why should God give you another year that you have no plan for

Q:  what are the objectives?  Built around what you have been given

God wants a return on what you have been given

How many talents are you to multiply

How dare you:  if it doesn't increase you fail

Turn that situation into something

Throw staff out.

Wherever you are, TuRN WHAT YOU ARE GIVEN INTO SOMETHING

WHERE ARE WE GOING?!

How do we answer the question:  ARE WE THERE YET?

(never had a clue where "there" was)

Where is your there?  For what's been given to you?

I AM GIFTED. 

SOMETHING HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ME. AIR ENERGY TALENTS TOOLS

You are afforded an opportunity right now

SAY:  I AM GIFTED

WHEN YOU GET ME, YOU GET SOMETHING

I WILL BE AN ASSET, NOT A LIABILITY

GIFTED PPL DON'T BUILD THEIR MINISTRY ON SOMEONE ELSES TALENT

Build with what you have; I HAVE BEEN GIVEN EVEYRTHING I NEED TO DO WHAT HE HAS CALLED ME TO DO

I AM GIFTED

I'M A GIFT TO ANYONE WHO TOUCHES ME

You can't bless somebody if you don't know you're gifted

If I needed more, he'd have given me more

GIFTS: Read to be able to do it

If you can read and you can pray, you can do anything anyody else can do

Philippians 4:13

Can you read?  Can you pray?  Can you do it?  YES.

This is your year to TRANSFORM

Gifted ppl need to gather gifted ppl

Gifted ought to marry and give birth to gifted ppl

Everybody in here has a gift

You cannot another YEAR, doing the same thing

Gather the WHO THE WHAT THE WHEN 

Build team around your destiny and gift

Build your team around what you can do

Don't build around someone who could walk off and leave you

yOu can only bring forth fruit from core

you cannot be fruitful until you find your seed, seedful

YOur power is in your core

The rest can rot off and you can still produce

Everything cut away, I didn't need.

WHO: gathered ppl

WHAT:  objective

WHEN:  when do they need to have these things accomplished  DONE BY WHEN

put a date on it or you can't determine success

you can't even evaluate with a date

forget:  someday....

PUT A DATE ON IT

HELP TO DISCIPLINE YOU

SENSE OF URGENCY

almost any time you see opposition, it is almost always an opportunity to display your superiority to that problem

:  Mastering the situation, Mose Sr.

Obstacle given to master, not run or live with it

GOOD LEADERSHIP:

Anticipate Obstacles

Have a contingency plan

Organizational rhythm

Everybody running away from something, ride the wave

:EX:  kids running with surfboard toward Katrina

:leaders see opposition as opportunities

Disaster is an opportunity for you to stand up and take control of the situation

Leadership shows up in opposition, problems

Establish why God put you there, in middle of city, in storm

Don't hide, run; stand up and be counted, ride it out

TENACIOUS AND RELENTLESS

Good leadership:  How to find, unearth

   --anticipates obstacles

What you should expect from leadership and from yourself

Forget:  "If everything goes right"... Never make a decision on best case scenarios

--you want to do it if all hell breaks loose

--think through a plan, think defensively and shut those doors before it comes

--has rhythm: pace in anything, flows BE CONSISTENT

I CAN ANTICIPATE WHICH WAY IT'S GOING, YOU'RE GOING

--I want report every Thursday, month

SMART RULE FOR OBJECTIVES

SPECIFIC--higher in Lord what does that mean increase by 150 members

    --never tel l accomplishment if (how will you know if you win?

    --don't accept vague answers from ppl you count on

   --avoid vague reports; must have specific objectives

   -

MEASURABLE

     --how do you measure?

    --what are we grading by?  preaching? souls won? quantifyable goal.

  

ACTION ORIENTED

     --ACTION STRATEGY

    --God cannot bless what you dream, but what you do

   --Whatsoever he doeth shall prosper (God blesses it after you do it)

   --God cannot prosper what you will not do

   --It was in doing what God said do...they walked in the revelation they hd

   --I've never done anything in the kingdom that I could afford

   --saw enough to be able to start out waling; while I was walking, he opened up doors; healing came as walking; door

   --GOD IS WAITING ON YOU; GIVES BREAD TO EAGER, SEED TO SOWER

   --GIVING TO SOMEONE SOWING

REALISTIC

   --willing to tell yourself truth about the level of your gifting

   --Bishop:  I realized I didn't have gifting for singing

   --just because you like something, enjoy something doesn't mean you need to do it.  adore it, 

   --just because you intellectually understand soemthing; tell yourself the truth

   --tell yourself what you are not so you can be what you are

   --shut doors, don't waste energy being something you are not; he shuts the door

 But as a mom and wife now, I have more than just myself to think about (I know, I know!  My, how time changes things! Ha!).  It is my 

TIME BOUND

    --discard old efforts that keep us from goal

   --I can't be who I was and who I am now at the same time

There are things built around where iI was 17years ago.  Focus on contemporary vision

Are you operating off current vision? Praying for life to a child God said must die?

Dismiss goals that do not share a common objective

If I'm in the car and I'm going to Chicago and you're going to Baton Rouge, you've got to go--or, if you're driving, I need to get off here

--Dismiss those who don't have same objectives

DEFINE NECESSARY BEHAVIORS FOR ACHIEVING OBJECTIVES

--FIND OUT HOW PPL WHO ARE SUCCESSFUL DO WHAT THEY DO

--find out how they do what they do

--he had six pack and I have 2 liter

--find behavior of ppl who are doing things you want to do

HE WAS MORE COMMITTED THAN ME

--see what the winners do

--and then ask: am I willing to do what they do to get what they have

--if you do what Abel did, you too will get what Abel got

--Develop arsenal of resources to accomplish goad and not the maintenance of mediocrity

--subscribe to magazines

--resources associated with what you do

--Do your resources look like your goals?

--Display in public those who have honored the values that you want replicated as you pursue the goal.

Want couples in the church, put couples up front

--Feed what feeds you

Donate the support to the engines that fuel the objectives that underscore the goal.

BENEFITS:

1. provides road map

2. generates creative ideas

3. creates working vision

4. stimulates systemic thinking and approaches

    ppl begin to follow, adopt, get involved

5. motivates us toward achievement

   and staff, others around you

   ppl get discouraged

   operate like a business, not a family

   raise bar; smart ppl

   quickest way to lose your church and talent in the church?  only promote ppl related to you or friends

6. offers a method for providing rewards and incentives
